They known as the heavy-antlered 14-point buck “Moose.” And the Iwashige household had been after the outsized Kansas whitetail because the youth season opened in September.
“We had been getting path digital camera photographs of some bucks at one spot, then a brand new, massive buck confirmed up, and he grew to become our goal,” Grant Iwashige tells Outside Life. “My 10-year-old son, Wyatt, had already taken a buck within the youth deer season. On Nov. 9, Grant and his two sons have been looking from a floor blind on a buddy’s 240-acre farm northwest of Wichita. They’d gotten path cam photographs of Moose that day and knew they have been in the suitable spot.

“We had gotten two path cam photographs, one within the [morning], and the opposite through the afternoon,” Grant says. “We knew Moose was inside 20 yards of the blind once we obtained into it that Saturday afternoon.”
